Parking.Brussels (P.B) has launched a new app to help guide motorists to car parks by integrating data into existing route planning applications such as Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze. Users in the region can also utilise a custom parking option for requirements such as charging stations for electric vehicles, bicycle parking or proximity to public transport. Imperial Parking Canada Corporation (Impark) has deployed its hangTag app at parking facilities which is said to allow parkers to locate facilities on a map, view lot details, get driving directions, and pay without going to the meter. It also provides an early notification when a session is about to expire, allowing users to extend time from their phone. US-based transmission and networking equipment manufacturer ComNet is to enter the access-control market with the introduction of two systems in the CNAccess range; the CNA100, a two to eight door solution for smaller applications and the CNA200 for up to 32 doors for bigger applications.

WPS has installed its pay-on-Foot parking technology, Parkadvance, at Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth city centre. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has installed around 2,000 Nedap sensors as part of its Smart Parking Project covering controlled parking at Al-Rigga and the World Trade Center areas. WPS has won a contract to provide its ParkAdvance technology at two car parks in the Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter and the city more generally. The technology is designed with the intention of enhancing customer experience and reliability.

Reading Borough Council and its partner NSL, who manages parking services across the area, has installed 79 new Parkeon Strada terminals to improve parking availability in and around the town centre. The solar-powered coin-only terminals are located on-street locations around the town centre, and close the Royal Berkshire Hospital and the town’s University.
