Truck Parking Europe, the free app for the location of truck parking facilities, now includes a reservation platform enabling truck operators and drivers to book safe truck parking facilities in advance on the web and via the app. The reservation platform can be connected to any parking reservation system in Europe and sends a reservation request to the truck park operator.

Shropshire Council in the UK has installed 25 new eco-friendly Parkeon StradaPAL parking terminals as part of a county-wide replacement programme. The new terminals, located both on and off street in Shrewsbury town centre and in Bridgnorth, enhance customer convenience through multiple payment options, including Chip & Pin, contactless and coin, and will also enable the council to provide print on demand discount coupons in the future.

Parking technology specialist Parkeon has developed a module for its Strada range of terminals that captures air quality data, enabling authorities to monitor levels of particulate matter and pollutants such as CO2. According to the company, its parking terminals are capable of integrating with smart third party systems, including supporting environmental monitoring technology.

The east Suffolk district councils of Suffolk Coastal and Waveney in the UK have brought forward a scheduled replacement of their parking terminal estates to ensure that local people are able to use the new £1 coin to pay for parking. Drivers in the UK, US and Germany spend billions searching and paying for parking spaces and paying for more time than they need to avoid a penalty charge, according to a new study by Inrix.

Inrix has announced the availability of its On-Street Parking service in the new BMW 5 Series car, providing real-time on-street parking service for a connected car, using historical and real time parking data to predict the availability of parking spaces.

Inrix has partnered with European parking operator APCOA Parking Group to exchange parking information in a deal which will provide Inrix with access to information from 1.4 million parking spaces at over 9,000 locations in 13 countries.
