‘One-Watt’ traffic signals from Siemens
Small is big news on the Siemens stand as the company unveils its ultra-low consumption One-Watt technology for traffic lights. The move from incandescent bulbs to 230V LED lamp heads had seen an enormous reduction in power consumption (down from 60Watts per head to around 15W) but means the load resistors and switching elements in the signal units are often the biggest energy consumers.

Shinsung displays patented impact attenuator
Shinsung Control of South Korea will be at Intertraffic Amsterdam with a range of road safety products including the EuroSmart Cushion, the company’s impact attenuator which has very recently been listed on Highway England’s list of EN 1317 Compliant Road restraint Systems. Shinsung’s patented system features an energy absorption pipe (EAP) that absorbs the energy of an impact, as it bursts and coils from the rear of the device.

Redflex unveils Halo traffic enforcement solution
Intertraffic sees the launch of Redflex Traffic Systems’ latest solution in traffic enforcement - Halo. The company says this innovative multi-capability system uses the most advanced image technology with up to 30 megapixel effective resolution, combined with a single wide beam high definition mapping radar and high-powered LED in-line flash. Faster assessment of road markings from RMS
Drop by the stand of Reflective Measurement Systems (RMS) to see its new RetroTek-M mobile dual-line system which at traffic speed can simultaneously measures the nighttime retroreflective properties of road markings (lines) and of raised pavement markers (studs) on both sides of the traffic lane. According to the company its dual-line mobile retroreflectometers, which meet EN 1436, are twice as efficient as single-line side mounted systems and have the repeatable accuracy of hand-held units.

CBC’s GANZ-INVU device on show for enhancing video in real-time
A device for enhancing and cleaning up video surveillance in real-time, the GANZ-INVU, is available from CBC (Europe). The unit, incorporating Image Detail Enhancement technology, is capable of cleaning up and enhancing video in rough weather. It also adjusts video in back-light and low light conditions.

Kathrein expands RFID options with Krai
System manufacturer Kathrein RFID is claiming 100% identification performance with its Krai range which combines a smart antenna with reader technology in an integrated unit. All Krai units are equipped with a microcontroller and its own software which means it is possible to adjust the antenna’s physical properties (the reading zones and the capture of the reading zones) with smart software.

Xerox will use Intertraffic to demonstrate two of its latest innovations in urban mobility: the Xerox Multipark Codex Parking system and Xerox Mobility Companion.
