Self-illuminating road signs star from HR Groep
HR Groep’s Infrastructure Category award-winning Smart Ultimate Lighting takes pride of place on its stand in Hall 1. This is a road sign that incorporates a foil (similar to mobile phone screen technology) which illuminates at night to light-up road signs rather than requiring separate incandescent or LED lighting. According to the company the foil provides sufficient light, even in inclement weather conditions such as rain and fog, that the sign remains totally visible.

Green Center demonstrates GPP PGS2 parking guidance system

Flir combines vision and radar sensing of intersections
TrafiRadar, an integrated radar and visual intersection monitoring and sensing system, is being demonstrated by Flir. The unit contains both a Doppler radar and a megapixel camera and can detect the presence, speed and location of a vehicle up to 250m from the stop line.

SCAE launches Tweety audible pedestrian crossing button
An innovative pedestrian touch and sound button for signalised pedestrian crossings is being exhibited at Intertraffic, courtesy of SCAE. The company’s Tweety touch and sound button allows pedestrians to request a green light signal, including a touch sensitive switch and sound and vibration for aiding the blind and hard of sight.

Signal Group’s Spinnaker offers new control options
Spinnaker is the name of the Signal Group’s new central control system that coordinates the company’s intersection controllers. The company supplies a range of intersection controllers from simple time-based sequencing units to traffic responsive and fully adaptive systems. Now Spinnaker uses web-based technology to control and coordinate roadside controllers to provide traffic managers with better information and additional control options.
