Enforcement systems specialist Agendum is celebrating award of a new contract from Geneva’s Fondation des Parking (FDP) for assisting with a project piloting digital parking enforcement in the city.

Intertraffic is a place to do international business, as is being demonstrated by a series of contract and MOU signings at the show. Three significant signings are taking place in the Dutch Pavilion the first of which was by UK enforcement specialist Redspeed, which signed a deal with Dutch approval body NMI. This will see NMI testing Redspeed’s speed cameras and ANPR equipment for the bespoke approval standards of all countries outside of the UK.

A pair of glasses with built-in automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) has been developed by Intertraffic exhibitor Lector Vision. The glasses have an onboard camera, GPS and a CPU along with software to allow plate recognition to be executed inside the glasses.

Spanish parking specialist ParkHelp has introduced its new camera-based parking guidance system (PGS), with its new ParkManager software modules. The system relies on new ‘double detection’ technology. This employs cameras that both read the licence plate of a vehicle in a parking space and also detect the volume of the vehicle.

French company E-Totem is showing its new e-Twin Premium vehicle charging station, 800 of which are due to be installed in France over the next two years.

Intertraffic visitors can view Tubthumpa, which is claimed to be ‘the ultimate rebounding signpost’, on the Saferoads Pty stand in Hall 5. Tubthumpa is an integrated rebounding post and sign designed to eliminate constantly damaged signs on traffic islands and centre medians.

HR Groep’s Infrastructure Category award-winning Smart Ultimate Lighting takes pride of place on its stand in Hall 1. This is a road sign that incorporates a foil (similar to mobile phone screen technology) which illuminates at night to light-up road signs rather than requiring separate incandescent or LED lighting. According to the company the foil provides sufficient light, even in inclement weather conditions such as rain and fog, that the sign remains totally visible.

It was Intertraffic that got Sweden’s Triplesign – makers of three-faceted variable signs – on the road to business success, so it is no surprise that the firm is back this year.
