Swedish road safety solutions supplier ATA has announced the strategic acquisition of FMK Trafikprodukter here at Intertraffic. ATA, a subsidiary of the UK based infrastructure group Hill & Smith Holdings, has bought FMK as the latest move in its growth strategy for the Nordic region.

SCAE launches Tweety audible pedestrian crossing button
An innovative pedestrian touch and sound button for signalised pedestrian crossings is being exhibited at Intertraffic, courtesy of SCAE. The company’s Tweety touch and sound button allows pedestrians to request a green light signal, including a touch sensitive switch and sound and vibration for aiding the blind and hard of sight.

Signal Group’s Spinnaker offers new control options
Spinnaker is the name of the Signal Group’s new central control system that coordinates the company’s intersection controllers. The company supplies a range of intersection controllers from simple time-based sequencing units to traffic responsive and fully adaptive systems. GTT introduces Canoga 9004 traffic sensing system
GTT - Global Traffic Technologies – is introducing its new Canoga 9004 traffic sensing solution here at Intertraffic Amsterdam. The system is able to simultaneously detect bicycles and vehicles and gives traffic engineers the data they need to make informed decisions regarding traffic flow. Engineers can design bike-friendly corridors even when dangerous, mixed-vehicle traffic exists, says GTT CEO Doug Roberts.

Custom customises the faster printing of tickets with the PP54
Ticketing system manufacturer Custom has launched the PP54 for ticket management for parking and public authorities. The PP54, prints at 300 dpi ad scans – two or four directions – tickets to ISO7811 standard. It also handle plastic cards, with embossing if required ,and c-less tickets or cards, HF RFID. All this can be done in less than one second, and it can handle three tickets at one time.

Sernis lights the way with road studs for harsh conditions
Portuguese manufacturer Sernis has introduced the SR-40, a reflective road stud that is very much at home in harsh conditions and is snowplough-resistant. Its design includes a solar panel of less than 1W in power, making it perfect for countries with low sun exposure. The stud also has RF low power 868MHz mesh network communication and has microcontroller technology inside each stud.
