Mitsubishi Electric has launched the production model of its direct view narrow pixel pitch (NPP) LED screen. The VS-15NP160 (15-NP) is designed for control rooms and other indoor applications. A new anti-burn feature is said to allow static graphics to be displayed without adversely affecting performance or lifespan. The 15-NP is rated for 100,000 hours of continuous operation, with its anti-burn feature.

3D Laser Mapping launches aerial mapping system

Geospatial technology company 3D Laser Mapping has introduced, Robin + Wings airborne LiDAR, an extension of the Robin mobile mapping unit. It can be used with both single pole and nose helicopter mounts and can be deployed in a range of sectors including transportation infrastructure, environmental monitoring and mapping.

According to the company, Robin +Wings works for ground and airborne applications, with the +Wings add-on extending this flexibility to rotary and fixed wing aircrafts and gyrocopters.

Urban transportation specialist Tern Bicycles has unveiled the GSD, a folding ebike that is only 180 cm long and packs down small enough to fit in a VW Touran and yet adjusts to fit riders from 150-195cm (4ft 9’ to 6ft 4’) tall. Bosch’s Perfectly Keyless turns the smartphone into a car key

Bosch aims to end the ritual hunt for car keys with its Perfectly Keyless digital vehicle access system for vehicles equipped with suitable proximity sensors and control system. Drivers download an app onto their smartphone and connect the car to the app; the smartphone generates a one-off security key that fits the vehicle’s ‘digital lock’.
