Mvis offers mobile variable warning signs to minimise road disruption
Mvis has launched two new variable message signs (VMS) to assist drivers with road closures, traffic accidents or planned maintenance work in the event of drivers needing to be re-routed. The signs are designed to be portable and mobile so that they can quickly be put into position with minimum disruption. Houston Radar releases speedlane for detecting lane, speed and class of vehicles
Houston Radar has released its low power side-fire radar, SpeedLane. It has been designed with the intention of detecting lane, speed and class of individual vehicles and compute per-lane volume, occupancy, gap, average speed, 85th percentile and headway parameters. Sony releases 7.4 megapixel stacked CMOS
Sony has launched a new 1/1.7-type stacked Cmos image sensor with a 7.42 (effective) megapixel RCCC filter for forward sensing cameras in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Inrix has launched its cloud-based analytics suite that uses its global traffic data to help public agencies and consultants more effectively monitor, measure and manage the performance of road networks. Bosch launches 48-volt hybrid battery
Bosch has launched its new 48-volt battery for hybrids which is designed to save fuel and reduce C02 emissions.The installation of the lithium-ion battery is designed for both compact cards, mini and microcards as well. RetroTek-MU certified as dynamic mobile retroreflectometer
The RetroTek-MU (RTM) has been certified to ASTM E 1710 standard as a dynamic mobile retroreflectometer, according to the testing, monitoring and certification association for road-owners, StrAus-Zert (SAZ). Clearview releases new solar stud to improve highway safety
Clearview Intelligence, Zeta Specialist Lighting and AEV have produced a solar-powered road stud designed to reduce night-time road accidents by improving guidance and hazard warnings to night-time drivers. Called SolarLite 2 (SL2) the stud is said to provide visibility of the road geometry up to 900m ahead - a 10 fold increase over reflective studs - and to decrease night- time accidents by over 70%. Government of Canada expands EV charging stations in New Brunswick
To provide Canadians with more options to drive clean, the country’s government has announced a $450,000 (£262,000) investment in NB Power’s eCharge Network, adding nine new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to the current ten, in New Brunswick.
