AutoVu Free-Flow from security solutions manufacturer Genetec is a new parking enforcement module for its AutoVu automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solution. Genetec says it will help increase parking enforcement efficiency by providing a real-time inventory of vehicles parked illegally in monitored parking lots.

Improved video and wireless communications from Moxa
Moxa has introduced new technology which it claims improve network reliability for smart transportation applications. V-On Video Always On is a video stream recovery technology on Moxa's latest Ethernet switches that provides 50ms redundancy for multicast video streams when used with Moxa's Turbo Ring or Turbo Chain. The company says that with a simple configuration setting, the technology enables the video stream to resume almost as quickly as the network itself.

Gemalto launches high speed multi-link network encryption
Digital security specialist Gemalto has released its new SafeNet Multi-Link that provides the equivalent of 10x10Gbps high-speed encryption devices in one unit. Differentiating between cars that stop and those that don’t

Introducing the UK’s first solar powered access barriers
Kent based company, Green Gate Access Systems, has launched a solar-powered car park barrier systems. The kits, manufactured by Italian company O&O, are said to be capable of functioning in the UK weather conditions all year round. The barriers are suitable for operation from solar-power where a green solution is required or a mains supply is not readily available, allowing security to be fitted to the most remote locations. Arbor Technology has added to its range of extended-temperature box PCs with the launch of the ARES-5300 programmable embedded controller which features a fanless, cable free, modular design and is built around the Intel Celeron J1900 quad-core SoC processor.
