Increasing traffic safety with 79GHz radar technology
Swedish companies Denso, Qamcom, Amparo Solutions and Acreo Swedish ICT are jointly developing new radar sensors for improved traffic safety. The 79GHz UWB Imaging Radar Sensor project claims the current 24 GHz and 77GHz systems have bandwidth limitations and its members aim to develop more effective radar technology.

Point Grey adds next generation CMOS to Grasshopper3
Point Grey has announced the addition of new 3.2 and 5 MP CMOS models to its Grasshopper3 USB3 Vision camera line. The latest Grasshopper3 models feature Sony’s second generation Pregius global shutter CMOS sensors. The IMX250 and IMX252 sensors have smaller pixels (3.45µm) and lower temporal dark noise.

Sick launches tunnel safety pollution monitoring
