BlueSG launches large scale EV car share programme, Singapore
BlueSG will launch a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing programme in Singapore on the 12 December as part of its vision to accomplish a fleet of 1,000 EVs and 2,000 charging points by 2020. Called the BlueSG programme, it is available as either a premium yearly membership plan priced $15 (£11) per month, or a weekly plan which does not require any recurring fees. California approves 6C electronic toll collection protocol
California’s Office of Administrative Law has issued a notice of approval of regulatory changes to adopt the ISO 18000-63 (6C) electronic toll collection (ETC) protocol on all roads throughout the state, from January 2019. According to Patrick Jones, chief executive officer of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the action helps to advance plans for achieving nationwide interoperability (NIOP). Royal Mail and Arrival to discuss EV trial at Microlise Conference
A trial in which Arrival provided Royal Mail with nine heavy electric vehicles (HEVS), which are said to travel 100 miles on a single charge, and their potential will be discussed at the Microlise Transport Conference, in May 2018. Five years free solar energy charge for Swedish Uniti EV buyers
E.on clients in Sweden who purchase a Uniti electric car (EC) will be provided with five years’ worth of charging through solar cells at home, as part of a new partnership between the two companies that aims to create a sustainable source of energy for charging. BlueSignal partners with CarForce to enhance AI traffic predictions
South Korean AI-based solutions provider BlueSignal (BS) has entered into a partnership to achieve a higher accuracy rate for its predictions of future traffic conditions based on real-time car data provided by US-based CarForce (CF). EastLink trials hands-free driving through its tunnels
EastLink (EL) has conducted a hands-free driving demonstration through its freeway tunnels using Honda Civic VTi-LX’s lane keep assist function. The trial, closed to traffic, aimed to help Victorian motorists understand the technology and other driver assistance functions after the Annual Victorian Self-Driving Survey revealed more than half of the 15,000 of the respondents had very little or no awareness of self-driving cars.

Keolis begins first section of metro system in Hyderabad, India
Keolis has begun operating the first section, 30km, of a new automated metro system of Hyderabad, Telangana State, South East India. The project, launched by the Telangana government, will run across a 68km network of three lines and 65 stations in the next few years. Once completed, it is estimated to carry 1.3 million passengers daily aims to reduce road congestion and boost the local economy.

Leicester City Council trials pedestrian and cyclist counters
Leister City Council (LCC) has installed UK-based Traffic Technology’s (TT) pedestrian and cycle counters at eight locations around the City. The counters are housed within aesthetic urban posts and will monitor and record the numbers of people walking and cycling as they pass each count site.

R&W Civil Engineering wins contract to improve M25, UK
R&W Civil Engineering has been awarded a place on the second Call-Off Framework Agreement (COFA-2), potentially valued £100m ($134m), to deliver improvement works on the UK’s M25 and associated motorways. The contract will run for six years and is procured and managed by Connect Plus on behalf of Highways England. It will also be delivered by Skanska, Osbourne, Jackson.

MaaS Global has launched two new mobility packages in Helsinki that combines public transport, taxi services and car rental, via its mobile app, Whim. EasyMile partnership to bring autonomous technology to bus
EasyMile has partnered with Iveco, Sector, Transpolis, Isae-supaero, Ifsttar, Inria, and Michelin to integrate autonomous technology into a full-size 12-meter bus.
