An autonomous car operated by Uber has killed a pedestrian in what is believed to be the first death of its kind, in a report by The Independent. The vehicle, according to Tempe Police, was driving in autonomous mode as part of the company’s North America tests that included an operator behind the wheel that was not in control at the time of the incident. Volvo Buses will deliver 90 hybrid models to the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company to expand and modernise the region's public transport. The project is part of the country’s ambition to transition its entire fleet to electric by 2030. Jenoptik and Telco will deliver more than 120-speed measurement systems to the Qatar Ministry of Interior during the second quarter of 2018 to help improve traffic safety in the Middle East. Through the agreement, Jenoptik will supply radar-based TraffiStar S390 measurement systems for stationary speed enforcement to Telco, including nearly 100 TraffiTower 2.0 and around 20 TraffiCompact housings. The scope of delivery also consists of six radar-based mobile speed measurement systems on tripod.

Flixbus has confirmed that E-Mobility will test E-Buses on their long-distance bus routes in France and Germany. The project, according to André Schwämmlein, founder and CEO of FlixBus, aims to help shape the future of mobility as well as signal bus manufacturers to develop alternatives to pure diesel vehicles. The first bus will begin test operations in April with its premiere route between Paris and Amiens, France. The second E-Bus will run from Hessen to Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in Summer 2018.
