Colorado launch plan to support EVs on state highways
John Hickenlooper, governor of Colorado, has announced the launch of the Colorado Electric Vehicle (EV) Plan to support EV infrastructure along the Western state’s corridors. 15 nominees confirmed for Intertraffic Amsterdam Innovation Award 2018
An international jury of transportation experts have shortlisted 15 candidates across the five categories: Infrastructure, Traffic Management, Safety, Parking and Smart Mobility for the Intertraffic Amsterdam Innovation Award 2018. Innovate UK to provide update on low emission trials at Microlise
Innovate UK will present an update on the £20m ($28m) government Low Emission Freight and Logistics Trials (LEFT) at the Microlise Transport Conference held in Coventry this May. The trials have deployed hydrogen dual-fuel vehicles, electric vans and trucks with the intention of encouraging the wide-spread introduction of low and zero emission vehicles to UK fleets.

TST awarded signalling contract for shanghai automated metro line
Shanghai Shentong Metro Group has awarded Thales SEC Transport the signalling contract for the Fully Automated Operation (FAO) Line 14 of the City’s Metro. It will provide an integrated management system as well as signalling and supervision solutions with the intention of meeting the demand for metro transport capacity and alleviating traffic in the downtown area. The driverless and highly automated line is scheduled to enter service at the end of 2020.

Smart LED lighting pole nominated at JEC awards 2018

SICK launches all-weather 3D sensor system for traffic management
Sick has launched the TIC502 Lidar sensor traffic and warning system which is said to scan vehicles up to 100 times a second with 99% accuracy to generate a 3D profile of each vehicle. The all-weather solution can be used for counting fast lane, free-flowing and static traffic to facilitate real-time management and electronic toll charge assessment of all vehicle types according to standard international transport classifications. 3M Transportation Safety Division will showcase its road safety technology and innovation on a near 50-city roadshow across the U.S. and Canada. ITS (UK) tells DfT is no barrier to HGV charging
The UK's Intelligent Transport Society has told the Department for Transport (DfT) that there is no technical barrier to the distance-based charging of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in response to a consultation on reforming the HGV road user levy. Clearview Intelligence reveals success after a year on the TMT2
