Eltec Elektronik adds Eltec Elektronik has launched its CyBox GW-P compact and wireless router which uses four LTE channels and intelligent control software to support vehicle-land data sharing communications specifically for trains and buses. E Ink partners with Papercast on smart bus stop project in Japan
Papercast's solar-powered e-paper passenger information displays will be utilised for a smart bus stop project in Japan's Aizuwakamatsu city as part of a partnership with E Ink Holdings. UK lane rental schemes set to go nationwide to help reduce congestion
UK lane rental schemes, where utility companies can be charged up to £2,500 ($3,499) each day for digging up the busiest roads at peak times, can be adopted by councils as part of a government approved strategy to help reduce congestion. Limebike deploy electric-assist bikes in Seattle
LimeBike has launched its electric-assist bike fleet in Seattle with the intention of providing a quicker and more affordable option to riders than driving or using ride-sharing services. Westcat switch buses to renewable diesel to reduce emissions
Californian public transportation service Western Contra Costa Transit Authority's (WestCat's) fleet of 45 buses is now running on My Neste Renewable Diesel to help slash emissions. The fuel is designed with the intention of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% and reducing engine-out emissions. In addition, WestCat has claimed that the fuel transition has led to a reduction in the maintenance required for emissions equipment and internal engine components.

Hyperloop signs first US Interstate deal

Canada partners with University to support Auto Innovation
Canada has joined forces with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) to upgrade its Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) with the intention of assisting companies and researchers in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the automotive industry. OCTA launch bus app and change routes to increase ridership
Orange County Transportation Authority's (OCTA's) mobile ticketing solution is now available on its bus fleet systemwide to help make boarding easier. It has also made a series of changes to existing routes with the intention of providing a more efficient service. Riders can now purchase fares via the OC Buss app on their smartphone or other mobile devices, enabling them to call up for a Quick Response code and scan it on the onboard reader. The application is available for iPhone and Android devices.
