France orders more speed enforcement from Sensys Gatso

Sensys Gatso Group has received an additional order for in-vehicle speed enforcement systems valued at €700,000 (US$768,500) from France. The order is a continuation of the project that Sensys Gatso Group started in 2013 and is scheduled to be delivered during the second quarter 2016. According to Sensys Gatso, the use of in-vehicle systems has proven to be a very effective way to reduce road casualties.

Homeland Security Award for Memphis Police Department

The Maryland Police Department, MPD, has been presented with a Homeland Security Award as a result of their partnership with video surveillance solutions provider Hikvision. London Borough deploys unattended CCTV enforcement

The London Borough of Barnet has awarded OpenView Security Solutions a contract to supply and maintain CCTV cameras and software for the unattended enforcement of moving traffic contraventions. According to Mayor Bill de Blasio, 2015 was officially the safest year on New York City streets since record-keeping began in 1910, thanks to the city’s Vision Zero program.He said the 231 traffic fatalities in 2015 are 66 lower than the 297 fatalities that occurred in 2013, the year before Vision Zero began. Pedestrian deaths, a historic low of 134 in 2015, fell 27 per cent during that period. The previous lows were 2011 with 249 traffic fatalities and 2014 with 139 pedestrian fatalities.
