A van driver who ignored a Highways England road block on the UK’s M42 motorway has been banned from driving for six months. Traffic safety company Sensys Gatso has delivered its first batch of in-vehicle enforcement systems to an unnamed governmental customer in Saudi Arabia. The contract has a potential value of €10m (£8.9m). The company says its T-Series in-vehicle systems can be deployed in large quantities without having to install fixed units on the roadsides. The initial deployment has triggered the second delivery of the five-batch order, Sensys Gatso adds.

Seatbelts will become mandatory on all medium and large highway buses built from 1 September 2020 in Canada, following new safety rules established by Transport Canada. The government department develops transportation regulations, policies and services.
