Highways England to deploy three HGV cabs to tackle unsafe driving

Highways England (HE) and Dawson Rentals have entered a partnership to deploy three unmarked HGV cabs that will patrol motorways and main trunk roads after one was used by Police to help catch over 4,000 dangerous drivers in its first two years. ADLV and DVLA to implement GDPR changes for ADD service

The Association For Driving License Verification (ADLV) is working with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in the UK on implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the Access To Drivers Data (ADD) service. European Court of Justice rules Uber as a Transport service

The European Court of Justice has ruled against Uber, concluding it to be a transport service, which will require it to have stricter regulation and licensing as a taxi operator within the EU. The decision follows a challenge presented by taxi drivers in Barcelona who were seeking a declaration from a court in 2014 that activities of Uber Systems Spain, amounted to misleading practices and acts of unfair competition.
European Commission: tighter rules for safer/cleaner cars

The European Commission (EC), European Parliament and the Council have reached a political agreement on the commission proposal from January 2016 to raise the quality level and independence of type-approval and testing before a car is placed on the market.
