Turkey-headquartered KentKart will use the ITS World Congress to show a new generation of onboard public transport tablet. The KentTablet provides contactless fare collection through a capacitive LCD touch screen, vehicle tracking and fleet management, passenger information in vehicle and at the station, employee management, emergency and alarm management, and onboard video surveillance services for public and private transportation companies.

Blip Systems will use the ITS World Congress to gain further momentum for the company's BlipTrack Bluetooth tracking system that has already been deployed in many locations around the world, not just for accurate and valid travel time, traffic flow and speed information in urban areas. As the company points out, its system is able to track the same person whether they are walking, cycling, driving a car, using trains, ferries, planes and other types of transportation.

Autotalks will present Craton, which it says is the world’s first VLSI for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and related Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication. The complete functionality of an On-Board-Unit (OBU) is supported by Craton and its RFIC companion Pluton which together form a true automotive-grade V2V transceiver. Craton is capable of authenticating all over-the-air messages, eliminating the need for complex message selection algorithms.

PIPS Technology has rebranded its successful Spike camera range as the ‘Spike Planets'. Visitors to the ITS World Congress will be able to see new products in the range, including Spike Venus, Spike Neptune (integrated ANPR cameras) and Spike Helios (an off axis Illuminator). Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) is to launch a contactless fare payment system on the city’s metro, public buses and water bus. Passengers will be able to pay by smart mobile phones using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Private sector operator, Transurban, operators of Virginia’s I-495 express lane, has unveiled the highway’s incident management centre where the flow of vehicles will be monitored on a widescreen monitor displaying a dozen camera angles.
