New Hampshire drivers get real time traffic information online
As part of its ongoing efforts to bring real-time traveller information to New Hampshire motorists, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has partnered with TrafficLand, a Virginia-based company, to provide real-time viewing access to the NHDOT's highway cameras. Aesthetically designed pedestrian counting
In an effort to gather information on the number of walkers and cyclists using pedestrian routes in Angoed and Treforest in Wales, sustainable transport charity Sustrans has installed Eco-Multi counters from UK company Traffic Technology. UK railways to benefit from information upgrade
More than US$13.44 million funding will be spent by train companies to boost passenger information at stations across the UK. The funding will pay for a national roll-out to link customer information screens at stations to the latest live real time train information data, fed from a database developed and maintained by train companies. Washington I-90 tolling could start in 2015
A planned Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) study could make tolling on interstate-90 bridges over Lake Washington and across Mercer Island all but inevitable. Sweden's Gothenburg introduces congestion charging
Sweden's second city Gothenburg will is to introduce a road toll for all motorists entering or leaving the city, similar to one already in place in the capital Stockholm. Rapid transit bus route for Mexico

China-Sweden research centre for traffic safety opens
The China-Sweden Research Centre for Traffic Safety has been officially inaugurated in Beijing, attended by representatives of Volvo Cars and other research partners in the project, including Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Volvo Group, the Chinese Ministry of Transport's Research Institute of Highway and Tongji University in Shanghai. Customised traffic information with new SmartWay application
The new SmartWay app from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) p will help drivers navigate Tennessee highways, providing up-to-the-minute customised traffic information. The home screen for the TDOT SmartWay App is a map, which will locate the user’s current position. Users will see icons on the left hand side of the map for traffic speeds, incidents, cameras, road construction, road conditions, and dynamic message signs. Map views can be customised by simply clicking on those icons.
