Ideagen software used by ConnectPlus for M25 project
UK technology company Ideagen's Coruson software will be utilised by ConnectPlus consortium to improve safety, quality and environmental processes for the renewal of the M25 motorway. Around 650 users will report into the quality management system. ConnectPlus is managing the 25-year phase of the Design, Build, Finance and Operate upgrade and maintenance project. Four New York boroughs to trial dockless bike-share scheme
Four boroughs in New York will host a dockless bike share scheme this summer to offer citizens an inexpensive transportation option. The project, announced by Mayor Bill de Blasio, will allow the city to evaluate different dockless companies as well as those offering pedal-assist bikes. Initially, two pilots will launch in beach communities Coney Island in Brooklyn and the Rockaways in Queens in July. Panasonic enter partnership to launch C-V2X technology in Colorado
Panasonic of North America, Qualcomm Technologies and Ford Motor have teamed up to bring cellular-vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) technologies to Colorado. The partnership will assess C-V2X capabilities this summer on specific roadways throughout Panasonic's CityNow headquarters in Denver. This agreement is an extension of a partnership between the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDoT) to integrate connected vehicle technology in the state.

Virgin Trains and Uber partner on door-to-door journeys in the UK
Virgin Trains has partnered with Uber to help encourage more people travelling between London and Birmingham to leave their cars at home. The agreement between the companies allows passengers to request a taxi to the train station and on arrival at their destination. Passengers will be eligible for 50% off their first Uber journey up to a maximum value of £10. The service will initially be available for journeys between London Euston and Birmingham New Street. Scoot deploys electric scooters and bikes in Barcelona
Scoot Networks has deployed a fleet of 500 electric scooters and 1,000 electric bicycles in Barcelona to provide travellers with more sustainable mobility options. The scooter-share company also collaborated with city officials to develop permits to make the vehicles safe for users. ABB to deliver fast charging solution to Denmark
Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) will deliver four electric buses and a fast charger to the city of Aarhus, Denmark, and its bus operator Busselskabet Aarhus Sporveje. The vehicles will replace four diesel buses to combat air pollution and they are expected to be operational by August 2019. Swiss Re integrates crash detection software into telematics platform
Switzerland-based reinsurance provider Swiss Re says its upgraded telematics platform can process vehicle data from any telematics platform and deliver a reliable crash alert to insurance clients. The solution has been embedded with telematics aggregation and crash detection software from UK firm Collision Management Systems. According to Swiss Re, the reliability of the crash alert removes the need for insurance clients to have to deal with large volumes of false alerts generated by telematics devices.

Virgin Hyperloop One tests Colorado feasibility
Virgin Hyperloop One (VHO) is designing a Hyperloop portal near Denver National Airport as part of a test project in Colorado. Once completed, the service is intended to provide citizens with fast travel connections to work and leisure destinations, VHO says. Last year, the company partnered with the Colorado Department of Transportation and engineering firm Aecom to examine the technological and economic feasibility of a Hyperloop system in the state.

CTS to integrate bus fareboxes with MARTA Breeze back office
Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) will upgrade the farebox system for Atlanta’s Xpress bus service. The company will integrate the system with the back office for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Breeze card. Getaround launches carsharing ‘to reduce congestion’ in Seattle
Getaround claims its new carsharing service will alleviate congestion in Seattle – and help low wage earners to make more money by becoming renters. APT Skidata claims its new ticketless solution using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) will provide drivers with faster and easier access to parking.
