Survey finds varied autonomy and safety technology preferences for new vehicles
New research on consumer preferences for full autonomy in new vehicles finds the technology is not yet popular among a broad audience, according to analysts at IHS Markit. Use of autonomous vehicles and drones expected to rise in US transportation industry
A recent B2B technology survey by ABI Research of 455 US-based companies across nine verticals finds that 30 per cent of transportation industry respondents plan to introduce robotics into their business operations within the next year, with another 22 per cent actively assessing the technology. Toyota, Mazda collaborate on electric vehicles, connected cars
Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) and Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) have today formed an alliance that will see them invest in a US$1.6 million assembly plant in the US and jointly develop technologies for electric vehicles, connected-car technology, advanced safety technologies and expand complementary products. Continental, Magna International to conduct real-world test of driverless vehicles
Two automated driving vehicles will travel more than 300 miles before arriving in Traverse City, Michigan, US as part of an international border demonstration by Continental and Magna International. ITS (UK) helps set the Connected Vehicle Standards
ITS (UK) is working with the British Standards Institution (BSI) to agree standards that connected and automated vehicles should adhere to in order help deliver safety and interoperability for all road users.
