Securitas partners with GreenRoad to improve driver safety
UK security provider Securitas has partnered with driver safety and behaviour technology company GreenRoad to reduce risks associated with driver behaviour and improve driver safety among its 11,000 employees. GreenRoad technology will allow Securitas to track the movements of its fleet, monitoring driver behaviour, such as harsh braking, cornering, lane handling, acceleration and speeding.

Delphi partners with Innoviz Technologies on LiDAR solutions for autonomous vehicles
UK connected automotive technology company Delphi Automotive is to team up with Israeli LiDAR technology company Innoviz Technologies, which is developing a product that provides a high performance intelligent sensing solution to help advance automated driving technology. Innoviz's proprietary LiDAR sensing solutions will be integrated into Delphi's systems to provide automakers with a comprehensive portfolio of autonomous driving technologies.

New technology trials to transform bus safety in London
Transport for London has announced plans to test new safety technology on London buses. Automatic braking and audible warning systems will be trialled alongside measures including new mirrors to improve the driver’s vision. All the new technology will receive a completely independent trial at the Transport Research Laboratory, whose engineers and technical specialists have been appointed to work with TfL, bus manufacturers and operators to trial a range of innovative safety measures.

Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority seeks volunteers to test CV technology
After nearly two years of planning, design and testing, the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) is now recruiting volunteer drivers and pedestrians for the Tampa Connected Vehicle (CV) Pilot. South Korea, UK to share autonomous car technologies

ITS Australia welcomes connected and automated vehicle trials
ITS Australia has welcomed the latest Victorian state government announcement of connected and automated vehicle (CAV) trials on public roads in Australia, using on the Monash-CityLink-Tullarmarine corridor in partnership with RACV, Transurban and VicRoads. The three phase trial will also include vehicle manufacturers BMW, Mercedes, Tesla and Volvo, with phase one due to be completed this year.

Toyota, Intel, form automotive big data consortium
Toyota Motor Corporation, Intel Corporation and other technology companies including Denso, Ericsson, telecommunications company NTT DoCoMo and Toyota InfoTechnology Centre, have formed a consortium to develop an ecosystem for big data used in connected cars. The Automotive Edge Computing Consortium plans to use big data to support emerging services such as intelligent driving, the creation of maps with real-time data and driving assistance based on cloud computing.
