VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and ITS Russia are to partner on the development of intelligent transport systems (ITS). The aim of Project CAVLANE is to develop new services, products and standards, particularly for border crossings. Part of the project involves testing ITS services for drivers before and after border crossings, such as queue cautions that are hoped to make traffic flow more smoothly at the Nuijamaa border crossing point and standardised European Union vehicle to vehicle (V2V)

An automated vehicle trial is underway on the Monash-CityLink-Tullamarine corridor to help Victoria, Australia, prepare for the future of driverless vehicles. The Government is partnering with VicRoads, RACV and Transurban, to trial connected and automated vehicles from manufacturers BMW, Mercedes, Tesla and Volvo. The study will look at how to prepare road infrastructure, regulations and the community for the integration of this new technology into our transport system.

With the completion of its acquisition of Mobileye, Intel is poised to accelerate its autonomous driving business from car to cloud. Mobileye will start building a fleet of fully autonomous level 4 SAE vehicles for testing in the United States, Israel and Europe.
