Quake Global has announce that Iridium Communicationsd has certified its Q4000 modem, the latest addition to the company’s extensive modem portfolio for asset tracking and remote two-way communications. Only the size of a smart phone, the Q4000 has the ability to determine the optimal transmission method, whether satellite or terrestrial. It also enables application features such as remote predictive maintenance, event logging, geo-fencing, DOT compliance and GPS tracking.
Esri ArcGIS Online and Data Appliance to use Navteq North America and Europe maps

Navteq has announced that North America and Europe coverage is now available on Esri ArcGIS Online and Data Appliance. Last summer, Esri launched Navteq map coverage for Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile and Argentina on ArcGIS Online.

ESRI has announced the availability of ArcGIS for AutoCAD, a free AutoCAD application that allows CAD users to visualise and query Geographic Information System (GIS) data within the CAD environment without conversion. ArcGIS for AutoCAD accesses dynamic geo-referenced ArcGIS Server map services and displays them in the AutoCAD drafting environment.

The toolkit is a free technology and services solution for implementing local, regional, national and global Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) portals. The toolkit gives users a website starter and all the functional capabilities needed to deploy a GIS portal for an organisation's SDI.
