A partnership between AirSage and Citilabs has announced Cube Cloud, which is claimed to be the world’s first cloud-based traffic analytics solution. Using AirSage’s cell phone signal analysis data, Cube Cloud combines the convenience of an online solution with accurate population movement data to deliver efficient transportation analysis and modelling.

ITS testing facility planned for New Mexico
Pegasus Global Holdings is proposing to locate a privately financed, owned and operated Centre for Innovation, Test & Evaluation in the State of New Mexico. With the support of New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, the company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the state’s Department of Economic Development.

Malaysia Uni creates single-display traffic light
Researchers at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) have created what they claim is the world’s first traffic light that uses a single display, but plays the same role, or even better compared to traditional three display sets. TomTom has announced the availability of its latest map products for the Asia Pacific region, delivering new coverage and features for automotive, enterprise and government customers. Confirm OnDemand used to maintain Southampton’s highways
Pitney Bowes Business Insight has announced that Balfour Beatty WorkPlace has chosen Confirm OnDemand – PBBI’s on-demand-based infrastructure asset maintenance and management system – to support its US$158 million Highways Services Partnership with Southampton City Council in the UK. Honeywell to acquire EMS Technologies
Honeywell has signed a definitive agreement to acquire EMS Technologies, a provider of connectivity solutions for mobile networking, rugged mobile computers, and satellite communications, for approximately $491 million. Honeywell says the acquisition will enhance its existing capabilities in rugged mobile computing technologies and satellite communications within its Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) and Aerospace businesses.

Esri ArcGIS Online and Data Appliance to use Navteq North America and Europe maps
Navteq has announced that North America and Europe coverage is now available on Esri ArcGIS Online and Data Appliance. Last summer, Esri launched Navteq map coverage for Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile and Argentina on ArcGIS Online.
