New TISPOL boss says ‘regulation must be simplified’
The new president of TISPOL, the network of European traffic police forces, has insisted that rules around traffic safety must be harmonised across the continent. Videalert launches e-bike and extends Bath clean air contract
Traffic management and enforcement specialist Videalert has launched an electric mobile enforcement bike. The BMW C Evolution e-scooter will enable councils “to enforce a wide range of moving traffic, parking and clean air zone contraventions whilst demonstrating their commitment to reducing emissions”, Videalert says. Jenoptik spot speed camera achieves UK gov approval
Jenoptik Traffic Solutions UK has announced its Vector SR camera has achieved UK Home Office type approval to operate as an unattended enforcement device for measurement of vehicle speeds. Speed limiters mandatory in EU cars by 2022
Various vehicle safety measures have been given the green light by European policymakers, paving the way for speed limiters in cars by 2022. Maruti Suzuki partners with Delhi police on traffic enforcement
Automotive manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has partnered with the Delhi Police to stop red-light running and speeding. The partners are launching a red light and speed violation detection system along the 14km ring road between the Dhaula Kuan intersection and Sarai Kale Khan village, near the Indian capital. Barcelona council introduces tax for bike and moped sharing services
Barcelona City Council has approved a tax which will require bike and moped shared services to pay €75 per vehicle per year to operate. The tax is designed to regulate companies to limit their presence and minimise impact on public space. Intercomp launches LS-WiM system for fleet operators
Intercomp has launched a low-speed Weigh in Motion (LS-WiM) system which it says allows fleet managers to collect the weight of vehicles without hampering traffic flow.
