Q-Free provides ISS to Florida toll operator
Q-Free is to deploy its Intrada Insight Server (ISS) solution to an unnamed tolling operator in Florida in a deal valued at £2.3m. The company says the solution uses advanced image-based transaction and automation processing technology to achieve a transaction accuracy of more than 99%. ISS also uses advanced vehicle fingerprinting and grouping analytical techniques to achieve improved accuracy, the company adds.

Q-Free to install traffic detectors in Slovenia
Q-Free is to install 68 traffic detectors from ADEC Technologies around Ljubljana and the A1 highway towards the coastal region of Slovenia. ADEC says up to three of its TDC3-8 (TLS 8+1) traffic detectors will be installed at 30 locations to manage traffic. Qualcomm violated antitrust laws, says US district judge
Qualcomm has been accused of supressing competition from smartphone chip rivals by threatening to cut off supplies and extract licensing fees. US District Judge Lucy Koh has ordered the company to renegotiate licensing agreements at reasonable prices. Redflex to operate AWZSE programme in Pennsylvania
Redflex Traffic Systems has won a contract to operate an automated work zone speed enforcement (AWZSE) programme in the US state of Pennsylvania. The deal is with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (DoT). The contract is expected to generate $30 million in revenue for the Redflex over the initial term of the agreement which will end February 2024. Videalert offers refit service to improve MEVs
Videalert is launching a refit service for mobile enforcement vehicles (MEV), which it says will allow UK councils to extend the operational life of existing assets. The firm claims that the service will allow councils who obtain MEVs from suppliers such as TES and SEA to replace analogue technology with high-definition cameras which offer capture rates up to 98%. AMG introduces Mini media converters for transport applications
AMG Systems has launched Mini media converters which it says are designed to protect transport cameras from extreme temperatures. The Mini media converters can be installed in confined spaces provide by camera poles and street cabinets and can operate in temperatures between -40 to 70 degrees Centigrade, the company adds. According to AMG, the converters provide a 100Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet uplink across fibre via the SFP port, providing a cost-effective means of converting IP signals for transport

New Hampshire chooses Gordon-Darby for vehicle inspection
The US state of New Hampshire has selected Opus subsidiary Gordon-Darby to implement and operate the State Motor Vehicle Inspection Management System. The five-year contract covers the state’s emissions and safety training programme which tests approximately 1.3 million vehicles a year and includes an automated on-board diagnostic inspection and electronic recording of all safety inspection requirements. The contract will be effective in January 2020 and allows for one additional two-year extension.

Zubie and CarAdvise initiate fleet maintenance programme
Connected car company Zubie has partnered with technology start-up CarAdvise to launch a programme designed to give small and mid-sized fleets a way to manage fleet maintenance. Zubie says its Smart Maintenance programme will allow fleets to utilise a network of 20,000 services facilities, delivering average savings of 26%. IRD wins $6.4m WIM system deal in Ukraine
International Road Dynamics (IRD) is to design and install 20 lanes of Weigh in Motion (WiM) covering six sites on arterial roads around Kiev, Ukraine.
