Robot Nederland, part of Jenoptik's Traffic Solutions division, has recently been awarded a contract to deliver up to 225 mobile speed enforcement systems to police forces in the Netherlands. The contract is for Jenoptik’s Multanova MultaRadar CD mobile speed enforcement system. The system uses a radar sensor which Jenoptik says is capable of capturing high resolution images of offending vehicles regardless of time of day or weather conditions. Sensys America, US partner of Swedish supplier of enforcement systems, Sensys Traffic, has signed a framework agreement to provide traffic safety systems for speed and red light enforcement to Washington DC. Washington DC will place orders through the framework agreement, although Sensys is unable to speculate on the size and timeframe of potential deliveries within the contract.

Wellington City Council in New Zealand has installed new electronic signs designed to help road users find available parking spaces. Five signs located around the city provide real time information to advise drivers of the number of available spaces in nearby car parks. The technology behind the signs is proven and used in Auckland and other main centres around New Zealand. Swedish company, Sensys Traffic is to supply red light enforcement systems to the Royal Oman Police to boost traffic monitoring system in the city of Muscat, as part of a three party agreement with the police and its local partner, Trifoil. In a contract worth US$3.6 million, systems will be installed at complex crossroads in the city, using the company’s new RS242 radar to monitor violations, identify lanes and classify vehicles.

German traffic solutions manufacturer, Jenoptik, which has already successfully installed systems in several Middle East states, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia, is to equip a further 600 sites in Oman with their latest speed and red-light monitoring systems.
