Results from TISPOL Europe-wide speed enforcement operation
TISPOL has released the results of a pan-European speed control operation in August, which shows that more than 600,000 drivers were detected for breaking speed limits. A total of 29 countries took part in the operation. Of the final total of 605,523 detections, 189,432 were made directly by police officers and 416,091 came from automatic technical means.

UV LEDs light the night without driver fright

Siemens SafeZone switched on in the Netherlands
An inter-urban version of Siemens’ SafeZone speed enforcement system has been deployed and switched on in the Netherlands this month to discourage motorists from exceeding 80 kph on two sections of the A13 motorway, the main arterial route between Rotterdam and The Hague. Promising results from latest German speed enforcement marathon
During the sixth German speed control operation North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, police found that motorists generally obeyed speed limits. Around 3,500 police officers and 300 employees of local authorities measured the speeds of vehicles over a period of 24 hours at 2,610 locations. D-cop now TUV certified in Italy

Jenoptik wins big in Singapore
Jenoptik’s Traffic Solutions division has received a major order from Singapore’s NCS Communications Engineering.
