The red light camera choice: 60 killed or save US$231 million a year

New traffic safety system at Dartford Crossing
From 13 June a new traffic safety system will be in use on the A282 (M25) northbound approach to the Dartford crossing tunnels. The system will identify and stop oversized vehicles or those carrying dangerous goods from entering the tunnels. Red light violations increase during summer driving season: report
The US National Coalition for Safer Roads has released new data on red-light running, which revealed an increase in the number of violations that occurred during peak periods of summer travel in 2014. Gatso USA awarded red light cameras contract in New York
Gatso USA has been selected by the City of Albany to install red light cameras at 20 of the city’s busiest intersections. The program will include 64 cameras across the 20 intersections. Contract awards for ATS
The city of Annapolis, Maryland has awarded American Traffic Solutions (ATS) for the installation and operation of a red-light safety camera program with an initial term of five years along with provisions for future term extensions.
