New York Thruway installs LED signs to alert wrong-way drivers
New York’s state Thruway Authority has installed Doppler radar-enhanced LED signs to alert wrong-way drivers before they enter exits in Buffalo and Nyack, Rockland County, where wrong-way derivers have been involved in crashes. California opts for IRD WIM
International Road Dynamics (IRD) announced today that it has received a US$1.6 million contract to provide a weigh-in-Motion (WIM) sorter system for a new commercial vehicle enforcement facility (CVEF) near Mountain Pass, California. Cubic completes acquisition of Serco transport solutions
Serco’s transport solutions business will become a part of Cubic Transportation Systems following Cubic Corporation’s acquisition of the business for an enterprise value of US$70 million. Serco’s primarily a UK-based transport technology and services business and had revenues in the last calendar year of approximately $67 million.

Lidar technology wins big in China’s autonomous vehicle challenge

Bluetooth sensors monitor travel times on Ontario’s busiest highway
Danish wireless technology company Blip Systems and its Canadian partner G4Apps have installed wireless sensors to help reduce traffic congestion on one of Ontario’s busiest highways, the Queen Elizabeth Way, which averages close to 200,000 vehicles per day. Siemens automation for Dutch road tunnel
In a deal worth around US$16 million, Siemens, in association with local construction company BAM, is supplying the road and tunnel technology for the Leidsche Rijn tunnel in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
