Tomtom offers authorities sensor-free traffic monitoring

Public Transport Victoria tests tram of the future
Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is testing a new analytics system on Melbourne's Yarra Trams, a first step toward the tram of the future. The trial is a partnership between PTV, Koelis Downer and Cisco. HMI Technologies announces first autonomous bus to operate in NZ
In breaking news from the ITS World Congress, HMI Technologies announced that New Zealand's first autonomous bus will soon be operating at Christchurch airport. Following meetings at Intertraffic in Amsterdam and consequent conversations with engineers, HMI decided to purchase the vehicle from French manufacturer NAVYA. According to HMI’s Dean Zabrieszach, the announcement has already generated plenty of interest.

Laser Technology ‘looks-down’ for traffic data collection
Laser Technology is exhibiting a twin laser/fourcamera ‘look-down’ system that can count and profile vehicles into a number of categories as well as measure speed and the headway between vehicles. Monopulse radar enforcement system launched by AGD
Radar detection specialist AGD Systems is using the ITS World Congress exhibition to launch an updated version of its monopulse radar system for traffic incident management and enforcement. According to Stuart Douglas, AGD Systems’ general manager in Australia, the 350 monopulse enforcement radar allows vehicles to be tracked in two dimensions, rather than just the one direction tracked by conventional single-radar detectors.

Denso outlines vision for of future car technology
Global automotive components manufacturer Denso has used this week’s ITS World Congress to roll out its vision for the future of incar technology to the broader transport industry.
