Nyx Hemera unveils solutions for outdoor lighting
Nyx Hemera Technologies has released two tunnel lighting addressable control systems (TLACs) which it says provides intelligent control and lighting system management capabilities necessary for smart cities. Isle of Wight invests in Flowbird’s solar-power parking
Island Roads has replaced around 40 parking terminals with solar-powered systems from Flowbird Urban Intelligence at a variety of locations across the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of the UK. CurbFlow looks at PUDO in Washington, DC
The District Department of Transportation (DDoT) in Washington, DC is working with CurbFlow to carry out the next phase of its kerbside pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) programme. DDoT says the programme allocates kerbside space for PUDO activities, allowing passenger and commercial loading to occur at the kerb and out of travel lanes. Bird rolls out 1,000 scooter parking zones in Paris
Bird is rolling out a solution which it says will direct scooter riders to 1,000 predetermined locations in Paris. These are all off the pavements in the French capital and out of the pedestrian right of way, the company adds. The company’s new app feature directs riders to set parking places using visual references points, real-time navigation and GPS-enabled alerts informing them they are with an approved parking place. London EV demand ‘rising’ since ULEZ intro, says Carwow
Demand for electric vehicles (EVs) has increased 123% in London since the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), says Carwow. Using data from its website, the car-buying platform found that searches for EVs also increased 56% in the rest of the UK Enquiries for alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) increased 77% in the UK capital and 44% in the rest of the country. ParkMobile and Reach Now to develop smart mobility solutions
ParkMobile has joined forces with BMW subsidiary Reach Now to build integrated smart city solutions aimed at improving parking, transit and multimodal transportation. Dubai RTA unveils smart system to identify parking spaces
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a system which it says can reduce search time for parking spaces by up to 30%. RTA says the smart parking system in the Al Rigga areas of Deira and the World Trade Center along Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) provides real-time information on vacant spaces.
