Showcasing corridor integration

TSS is demonstrating latest results from modelling of the San Diego test bed of USDOT’s Integrated Corridor management (ICM) initiative. This nationwide project aims to end gridlock in urban areas via coordination of transportation operations. TSS will be showcasing results from the Aimsun predictive algorithm and real-time modelling at the heart of ICM.
Transdyn unveils new TMS

Transdyn, Inc. has recently designed, built and installed a Traffic Management System (TMS) for Transurban’s I-495 Express Lanes in Northern Virginia. The project included the addition of four new lanes on the Virginia side of the Capital Beltway and replacing $260 million-worth of ageing infrastructure. When it opens later this year, it will be one of the most technologically advanced roadways in the world and will provide faster, more predictable travel times to users.

Trafficware and Naztec have merged

Simulation, optimisation and adaptive control software specialist Trafficware has combined its talents with those of advanced traffic control hardware and software manufacturer Naztec to form what is being claimed to be the pre-eminent technology-based company in the traffic management sector. The merged companies will work under the Trafficware name from the recently completed Naztec Technology Center, a 90,000 square-foot purpose-built facility in Sugar Land, Texas.
Iteris secures $2.45m ATIS deal

Flir is showcasing a new line of its FC-Series of thermal cameras that eliminate the problems associated with glare, darkness, vehicle headlights, shadows and wet pavement. The cameras replace legacy optical cameras and can be dropped in and used with existing traffic management infrastructure and software.
TransSuite success!

TransCore has announced today at the ITS America Annual Meeting that it has completed one of the fastest TransSuite deployments, for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), encompassing more than 1,200 centerline miles and nearly 800+ total devices. And the company has also unveiled a new mobile iPad app for the advanced traffic management system (ATMS) so that agency engineers or managers can monitor traffic conditions and system operations from anywhere at any time.
