Istvan Tarlos, the mayor of Budapest, the Hungarian capital, has told the press that income from the planned congestion charge will total some US$85.64 million per year. The amount will be spent on covering operating costs of the Hungarian capital's public transport company BKV. The congestion charge is expected to be introduced by mid-2013.

Telvent GIT has announced that it has successfully completed an open road tolling (ORT) system in coordination with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority on the new 183A Expressway Northern Extension. Telvent announced that it has completed the deployment of an Open Road Tolling System (ORT) on the new 183A Expressway Northern Extension near Austin, Texas.

The leading road concessionaire in Mexico, Ideal, has awarded Spanish multinational Indra a US$21.67 million contract for implementing its technology in the three motorways that make up what is known as Mexico's South Pacific Package for the amount of €17 million. TransCore has been selected by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) to deploy the SCATS adaptive traffic control system across almost 130 intersections in the Hackensack Meadowlands District – the fourth-largest deployment of its type in the US. The $3 million contract was predominantly funded by the Commission’s TIGER II grant to implement the Meadowlands Adaptive Signal System for Traffic Reduction (MASSTR) program.
