Free Smartphone app to improve travel experience
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has released phase 1 of CDOT Mobile – The Official App, its new, free Smartphone mobile application for travellers, which launches with the I-70 mountain corridor, which is used an average of 30,000 vehicles each day. The app is designed specifically to improve the travel experience on Colorado roadways by making critical information such as highway conditions and traffic information more accessible, dynamic and interactive. Vysionics to deploy asset and maintenance management solution

Pilot study on in-car advice of green and blue waves

Sacramento Regional Transit launches mobile bus tracker
Following the introduction of its real-time online bus tracking system, Sacramento Regional Transit (RT) in California has launched a new free app for iPhone and Android that enables passengers to track any bus approaching a bus stop. Montreal’s buses to get GPS and real-time information
Bus passengers in Montreal will soon be able to plan their journey using real time information, making trip planning easier and reducing frustration over late buses. The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has approved a US$93 million contract to equip its 1,900 buses with a system, called iBus, that monitors the location of buses using GPS and relays that data to users via the web and smartphones.
