Escort unveils connected car radar / laser detection system

Escort has announced the launch of what it claims to be the first radar and laser detector designed for connected cars (CCs) to alert drivers of the latest ticket threats in real-time. Through built in Wi-Fi, the Escort Max 360c (EM360) updates drivers through the vehicles on board connection. Teledyne Dalsa (TD) and Teledyne Optech (TO) will showcase their latest imaging solutions for intelligent transportation systems in live demonstrations at ITS Word Congress 2017 in Montréal, Canada. TD will be displaying the Genie Nano with resolutions from VGA to 25 megapixels that offer range in sensor size and image quality with more than 40 colour and monochrome models. To combat the 7,673 accidents that involved cyclists last year, in which 67 died and 736 were injured, the Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has installed 16 dynamic cyclist signalling equipment at four conventional roads in La Rioja, northern Spain, where the visibility is reduced. HooYu collaborates with Easycar on revealing car renter identities

Identity confirmation provider HooYu has partnered with peer-to-peer car rental platform easyCar Club (ECC) to confirm customer identities as a means of increasing confidence in hiring and renting cars. HooYu cross-references an analyses data from a person’s digital footprint and verifies the driver as well as extracts and verifies data from ID documents and conducts a biometric facial check comparing a self of the customer with the facial image of their ID document.
