Island Radar develops blocked rail crossing detection system
There are many frustrations that motorists encounter in their travels. Sitting at a blocked crossing, scowling at a stopped train, is high on that list. Blocked rail crossings are even more disruptive to the road traffic manager trying to improve traffic efficiency and reduce delays on the road network. Island Radar says it is the detection system of choice for cities, municipalities and traffic managers that are looking for new solutions to the old problem of blocked crossings.

Q-Free to upgrade largest free-flow tolling operation in Portugal
In a major coup for the company, Q-Free has announced it has been awarded a contract to upgrade nearly 100 free-flow tolling locations along 500km of four major highways in Northern Portugal. The network is the largest tolling operation of its kind in the country. The award underlines Q-Free’s long-standing ethos of strong on-going relationships and active support for its customers: the company designed the original installation between 2009 and 2011 and has maintained it ever since.

Oriux innovation provides impressive results for Minneapolis LRT
The city of Minneapolis wanted to reduce delays caused at traffic intersections from repeated light rail transit (LRT) preemptions and also to eliminate stops between LRT stations. The transit authority turned to Oriux, the evolution of Peek Traffic, to find a solution. The company applied innovation to develop and deploy a customised solution.

MG Squared’s innovative mounts enhance CCTV maintainability
When an innovative solution to maintain cameras while minimising lane closures and bucket trucks on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, (formally known as the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge) was needed, MG Squared answered the call. Over 60 custom designed camera lowering devices are in operation on this remarkable structure, spanning the Hudson between Tarrytown and Nyack New York, just north of New York city.
