ITS World Congress 2022

Emergency Response Day has returned to the ITS World Congress in Los Angeles this year, giving delegates and visitors the opportunity to see how smart technology is helping to ensure safety in the most high-pressure environments.

Kapsch TrafficCom’s David Bolt, VP Sales and Solution Consulting for the APAC region, will provide an update for attendees on how the Kapsch and AIMES Intelligent Corridor project is going and explain six defined use cases focused on congestion management and improving road safety. The project was launched by Kapsch TrafficCom in March of this year together with the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Department of Transport (DOTVic), supported by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage grant from the Federal Government.

Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and in 2024 the world of ITS will be headed to Dubai. ITS World Congress 2024 will be the first time that this signature event is held in the Middle East since it was launched in 1994.

For over 50 years, Cubic Transportation Systems has been getting people from point A to point B safely and efficiently. Sensys Networks is using the ITS World Congress 2022 to unveil an all-new vehicle detection sensor, FlexMag Mini, that installs in a fraction of the time of inductive loops – two to five minutes per sensor. As the company points out, in-ground detection is known for its unmatched accuracy, but loops require lengthy lane closures and cutting up the pavement to install or replace. With FlexMag Mini, transportation agencies can get the benefit of accurate detection for any application with minimal lane closures. Plus, transportation studies have shown that FlexMag outlasts loops by 30%.

Michelin is using the ITS World Congress in Los Angeles to introduce its latest acquisition RoadBotics—showcasing ways that the new division’s image analysis technology can make roads safer for drivers.

Urban mobility patterns had been rapidly changing even before the pandemic.

It’s a first for the US, says one.network, where it and the Florida DOT have delivered a phone-based app allowing road workers control over their own on-site safety.
