SICE’s flagship centralised traffic management system Sidera now manages all the company’s ITS equipment on more than 2,500km of roads and 340km of tunnels worldwide. In fact, Sidera handles data for some of the world’s most iconic and complex infrastructures. These include the Calle 30 in Madrid, the WestConnex tunnels in Sydney, the Seattle Tunnel in the US and the Stockholm Bypass.

Autotalks launched its new third generation chipsets TEKTON3 and SECTON3 at ITS World Congress in Los Angeles this week. Canada’s Quebec City, with a population of round 550,000, has a specific challenge when it comes to building new roads and maintaining existing ones. Harsh winter weather means roadworks have a short window of opportunity – April to October at best. During these summer months there can be upwards of 2,000 sets of roadworks, causing major traffic snarls.
