New Year orders for Q-Free
UK-based Q-Free TDC has received orders from three different customers at a total value of US$3 million. The orders comprise deliveries of weigh-in-motion (WIM) services and equipment to the Department for Transport in the UK, in addition to one customer in the US and one customer in Pakistan. Omnitracs partners with Drivewyze on weigh station bypass services
Fleet management solutions provider Omnitracs has partnered with Drivewyze to equip Omnitracs mobile computing platforms with its PreClear Weigh Station Bypass services. TRL develops eCall test proposals ahead of mandatory roll-out in 2018

Euro NCAP puts autonomous pedestrian detection to the test
European safety organisation Euro NCAP is introducing a new test that will check how well vehicles autonomously detect and prevent collisions with pedestrians, which it says will make it simpler for consumers and manufacturers to find out which systems work best. According to Euro NCAP, independent analysis of real world crash data in the UK and Germany indicates that the deployment of effective autonomous emergency braking systems on passenger cars could prevent one in five fatal pedestrian collisions.
