The PTV Group is to collaborate with the University of Melbourne on smart cities and smart mobility research, including a number of initiatives and projects, such as the National Connected Multi-modal Transport (NCMT) project.
The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding at the recent Executive Transport Forum 2016 in Melbourne, which, with the University of Melbourne, is currently involved in different future transportation projects.

The Volvo Group is now taking the next step in the development of sustainable transport solutions. In collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration, the Volvo Group will study the potential for building electric roads, where city buses can be charged from electricity in the road at the same time as the bus is in operation. The benefit is quieter and more climate-smart public transport. A 300- to 500-metre electric road may be built for test operations in central Gothenburg during 2015.

Medium sized oil company Allguth has teamed up with technology company The Linde Group (LG) and opened a hydrogen (H2) filling station for fuel-cell vehicles in Munich’s Trudering district, Germany. The Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) supported the construction of the facility with €400,000 (£356,000) from its National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) and it will be operated by the infrastructure partner H2 Mobility.
