The RetroTek-MU (RTM) has been certified to ASTM E 1710 standard as a dynamic mobile retroreflectometer, according to testing, monitoring and certification association for road-owners, StrAus-Zert (SAZ). It is capable of measuring road markings / striping across the full width of a traffic lane simultaneously in one pass at traffic speeds up to 75mph and can be operated by one driver. Italian firm Pilomat is showing off the latest version of its surface-mounted hydraulic road blocker at Intertraffic.
Designed to increase security at access points to residential, commercial and industrial areas, the Road Blocker Surface has been made more functional and safe with “aesthetical and mechanical improvements”, the company says. It is now “compact and easy to integrate into any urban space”.

Swarco Traffic Systems has installed a total of 172 solar-powered ParkLine evo² parking meters in the urban district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg in Berlin, Germany.
The meters will accept cash as well as payments by chip card, cash card or RFID card and can use either mains power or from the street lighting system with battery backup during the day. Alternatively they can be powered by a built-in solar panel. The pay display ticket machines are controlled by a central computer via GSM/GPRS.
