Swarco installs parking meters in Berlin

Swarco Traffic Systems has installed a total of 172 solar-powered ParkLine evo² parking meters in the urban district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg in Berlin, Germany. The meters will accept cash as well as payments by chip card, cash card or RFID card and can use either mains power or from the street lighting system with battery backup during the day. Alternatively they can be powered by a built-in solar panel. The pay display ticket machines are controlled by a central computer via GSM/GPRS.

    Nottingham orders 200 Metric Aura Elite parking meters
    Nottingham City Council in the UK has placed an order for 200 Aura Elite pay and display parking meters manufactured by the Metric Group to replace their existing on and off street equipment. Metric, the UK’s only pay and display parking machine manufacturer, says it won the order against strong European competition. The first phase of a delivery programme for installation of the 195 solar and five mains Elite’s for on and off street parking in Nottingham will start before the end of the year.

    In Northamptonshire, Kettering Borough Council has replaced its aging pay and display machines with new Metric Aura Elite pay and display meters as part of an updating programme to provide customers with the best available choice.
