A strong government role remains critical to ensuring that the deployment of connected and automated vehicles (C/AVs) improves the quality of lives for all citizens – according to the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Fluor and its partners are to construct and operate the Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Automated People Mover, a project valued $4.9 billion, over the next 30 years.
The announcement follows the completion of a pre-construction phase carried out by Fluor and its LAX Integrated Express Solutions (LINXS) team on behalf of Los Angeles World Airports.
The line is expected to offer a rider capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour once it is operational in 2023.

Johnson Controls has announced the results of a survey of some 2,800 young people in Germany, Great Britain, China, and the US, to find out what ‘digital natives’ expect from the car of the future. Approximately 2800 young people were surveyed in Germany, Great Britain, China and the United States. Their key desire: to stay connected to the digital world while driving, too.
