Swarco scoops city centre signage contracts
Swarco Traffic has signed new contracts with three UK City Councils, Bradford, Durham and Coventry, to install a variety of full matrix and variable message signs (VMS) to manage and control vehicle flows within city centres. London Borough starts rollout of new pay and display parking machines
New pay and display machines are being installed in parts of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, to help make parking easier for shoppers and businesses. The first machines have just been installed in all council-run car parks and around Woolwich Town Centre, replacing the old-style meters. UK shopping centre opts for APT parking systems
APT Skidata is to deliver a fully integrated parking solution for the Bradford Broadway shopping centre development – the UK’s largest retail centre to be opened in 2015. Genetec optimises off street parking enforcement
AutoVu Free-Flow from security solutions manufacturer Genetec is a new parking enforcement module for its AutoVu automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solution. Differentiating between cars that stop and those that don’t
The addition of Detect on Stop (DOS) technology to EMX’s Ultraloop range of vehicle detectors, means the system only triggers when a vehicle stops for at least one second over the loop. It ignores cross-traffic and vehicles that keep moving, enabling parking exit gates to stay closed.

Introducing the UK’s first solar powered access barriers
Kent based company, Green Gate Access Systems, has launched a solar-powered car park barrier systems. The kits, manufactured by Italian company O&O, are said to be capable of functioning in the UK weather conditions all year round. The barriers are suitable for operation from solar-power where a green solution is required or a mains supply is not readily available, allowing security to be fitted to the most remote locations.
