Growth of South Africa’s installed base of fleet management systems

According to a new research report from the analyst firm Berg Insight, the number of active fleet management systems deployed in commercial vehicle fleets in South Africa was 0.9 million in Q4-2015. Growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.8 percent, this number is expected to reach 1.5 million by 2020.
Britain’s Christmas drinking habits revealed

Seasonal research into Britain’s drinking habits highlights that over a quarter of British adults (26 per cent) will consume more than 15 units of alcohol over Christmas, 24 to 26 December – the equivalent of 12.9 million people. This is well over the National Health Service’s recommended consumption of 9-12 units for men and 6-9 units for women over a three day period.

To aid the safe implementation of automated driving, Toyota is developing a high-precision map generation system that will use data from on-board cameras and GPS devices installed in production vehicles. FTA Ireland says new road death figures are positive sign

The Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI) says road death figures just released are a positive sign that road safety measures are working. The Road Safety Authority (RSA) and Gardai yesterday published the Provisional End of Year Review of Road Fatalities, which showed a 19 per cent drop in road deaths and a 36 per cent reduction in passenger fatalities.
