Sensys Gatso Group has received a contract valued at US$749,000 (EUR 685 thousand) from its Belgian partner Engie Fabricom. Driverless cars could significantly reduce delays according to a new study by the Department for Transport (DfT). The project used computer software to create virtual models of different parts of the UK road network including urban roads and a 20km motorway section. Ertico-ITS Europe has appointed Jacob Bangsgaard, previously director general of FIA Region I, as chief executive officer effective 1 January 2017. He succeeds Hermann Meyer, who has been CEO since February 2008.
