ChargePoint to provide EV chargers at Morrisons stores
ChargePoint Services is to install its GeniePoint Network electric vehicle (EV) chargers across all Morrisons supermarkets in the UK.
ChargePoint says its 50-100kW rapid chargers will allow customers to refuel their EV in around 20 minutes.
The firm’s managing director Alex Bamberg says: “By offering another useful local service, customers are provided with choice for grocery, café and comfort stops, and green vehicle refuelling.”

ChargePoint is not the only company introducing chargers at UK supermarkets. Last year, 994 Volkswagen announced it %$Linker: 2External<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary />000plansfalsehttp://www.itsinternational.com/sections/general/news/vw-to-install-ev-charging-network-at-uk-tesco-stores/truefalse%> to install more than 2,400 EV chargers at 600 Tesco stores by 2020.
Aptiv has opened a technical centre in Las Vegas, US, to gather insights on its fleet of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and to improve safety operator training.
Aptiv says its AVs are supporting more than 1,600 destinations across Clark County and the city, including entertainment venues such as the Las Vegas Convention Center and City Hall.
In May, Aptiv launched 30 AVs in the city to pick up riders using Lyft’s app and network.

Midlands Future Mobility consortium will turn 50 miles of roads in Coventry and Birmingham into a UK testing centre to develop connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs) and related technologies.
These networked roads will feature smart vehicle monitoring, data analytics and 5G wireless infrastructure. The consortium, consisting of industry and academic professionals, intends to enable industries to carry out tests using real-world environments.
