Atlantic Zeiser, the German dedicated personalisation and coding system manufacturer, has released a new CARDLINE VERSA COLOR four-colour, drop-on-demand (DoD) printing and UV coating system allowing users to “manage the entire production process, expand their business offerings and address new markets”.

“Our new CARDLINE VERSA COLOR system lets personalisation bureaux add more attention-getting creative elements to their cards, such as brand colors, spot coatings, and other effects, enabling brand owners to stand out from the competition,” says Friedbert Beyer, Director of Market and Product Management for Card Systems at Atlantic Zeiser. “They can own the process from beginning to end, starting with blank plastic cards to produce short runs of high quality, low-cost, four-color printed and personalised cards. It’s a full-scale card production factory in a fraction of the traditional footprint.”

The CARDLINE VERSA COLOR “delivers a consistent 950-dpi resolution”, says AZ, and “its UV coating module can provide full edge-to-edge or spot coating, or special 3D-type effects. A high-speed transport system ensures that cards flow smoothly through the system for maximum quality and productivity. And because Atlantic Zeiser DoD printing technology uses lower-cost consumables than conventional legacy systems – and an all-digital workflow is more productive over many short runs – the system can produce cards at the lowest cost.”

The system can also handle standard products and functions for almost all card formats, including odd-shaped cards, hang tags, and double CR80 cards, says the manufacturer.

The Atlantic Zeiser Group is a world leader in governmental and industrial high-security personalisation, coding and mailing technologies, offering integrated system solutions for the processing of ID cards, passports, driver’s licenses, health cards, voter cards and commercial cards.
