Toll route operator Eastlink, with support from Australian Road Research Board, has launched the first of an annual Victorian self-driving vehicle survey for Victorian motorists’ attitudes to and perceptions of self-driving vehicles, to be completed 8 October 2017. The first major survey is aimed at motorists, irrespective of whether they use Eastlink and will be repeated annually to track changes into the future
Drive.ai is using self-driving vans to carry passengers on a near two-mile route in Frisco, Texas. According to a report by CBS News, the company is the first to launch such a test since an Uber vehicle driving in autonomous mode killed a pedestrian in Arizona.
These vans will operate over the next six months, with a safety driver on board, and will travel between an office park and a nearby dining area and entertainment complex.

The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) is partnering with ITS America to host two free public workshops on Thursday June 16 at ITS America 2016 San Jose. These workshops will discuss connected vehicle architecture, standards, and software tools, as well as provide new training on developing a plan for deploying a connected vehicle environment.
The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) is to deploy 15 electric buses in Guwahati, a city in north-east India.
The project is part of the Indian government’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) scheme.
A report by Business Standard says each bus will carry up to 31 passengers along a 6.4km route between the neighbourhoods of Kachari and Kamakhya.
